As you know one of my favorite parts of model railroading is to take close-up pictures of my Z scale collection. My goal is to show these pictures to people, and they can't tell what size the models actually are. Often people think the models are HO scale because this is a very popular scale in Europe. I recognized that the stunning dioramas from my friend, John Cubbin, have all the details like the real world, but my locomotives and rolling stock look like new, "out of the box" items. So I began to read a lot about weathering on the Internet and on different forums. If you research model train weathering, you always find one name, Tom Mann. I contacted Tom several months ago but he was very busy and had no time to weather some items for me. I was very surprised when he sent me an email last month telling me that he could find some spare time for my projects. I immediately sent him some cars and one of my favorite engines, an AZL, SP SD40T-2 Tunnel Motor locomotive, the right engine for an old and dirty look. Here are some pictures, just move your Mousepointer over the picture. And some Boxcars...
an the last one for the moment, this time without roll over function:-)
more pictures coming soon.
